I’ve always been drawn to stillness, not as absence, but as a form of presence.
This pairing was not staged. One image was made in my home, the other in the city. But when placed together, they began to speak. The orchid, delicate, lit by blinds, felt like a portrait. And the woman leaning against the wall, half, illuminated, mirrored that gesture of quiet containment.
This diptych is about interior tension. Not action, but pause.
Not display, but restraint.
Both subjects, floral and human, occupy space without demanding attention. And yet, each holds the frame entirely.
To me, photography is not just a way of seeing, but a way of listening.
This is what I heard in the silence.
